The scene of this one-week top event, traditionally under the patronage of the Relais Bernard Loiseau in Saulieu, for decades one of the top addresses for French high cuisine in the heart of Burgundy and the Parisian star patisserie and macaron magician Pierre Hermé, are traditionally the family-friendly Constance Belle Mare Plage and the sophisticated, Constance Prince Maurice, one of the Leading Hotels of the World. Two 5-star beach and golf resorts on the kilometer-long dream beach of Belle Mare on the fat east coast of the island, far away from the hectic tourist hotspots in the picture-postcard idyll of Flic en Flac in the west and Grand Baie in the north of Mauritius. Together, both hotels also have the most impressive wine cellar in the entire Indian Ocean, lovingly curated by Constance Corporate Sommelier Jerome Faure, who, thanks to excellent contacts with the best chateaux and wineries in the world, has collected around 50,000 bottles and more than 2,300 positions - including numerous legendary ones Crescences like Romanée-Conti and Co. of course. Only the high tax burden for imported luxury drops reduces the pleasure a little, on the other hand, thanks to Jerome's good connections, connoisseurs will also fnd bottles on the menu that can hardly be found anywhere else. The focus of the festival is traditionally a mixture of exclusive degustation menus and master classes, but above all top-class competitions in which the star chefs and top pastry chefs who have traveled from Europe together with the local heroes from the kitchens and the service team of the seven Constance hotels, among other things, compete for the renowned Deutz -Trophy, donated by the Maison of the same name in the Grand Cru municipality of Aÿ and the Trophy Bernard Loiseau, named after the French 3* chef who died in 2003. This makes the festival, which almost feels a bit like a family reunion due to the warm atmosphere, equally exciting for specialist audiences and hotel guests interested in culinary delights.
