C Trek: adrenaline-pumping excursions in Mauritian nature Reaching Le Pouce Mountain in Mauritius is an exciting experience: a trekking route that offers breathtaking views of the beautiful landscapes of the island. Le Pouce, which means "the thumb" in French, is the third highest mountain in Mauritius. This is a challenging, yet very rewarding hike for the outdoor enthusiast. The itinerary up to the top of Le Pouce is about 4 kilometres and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. The reward is breathtaking panoramic views of the island, including the capital Port Louis, the sparkling Indian Ocean and the lush tropical vegetation that covers the island. Those who prefer less demanding routes can choose between the various bike tours, such as the one that leads to the Bras d'Eau Natural Park and which offers the possibility to explore the lush natural beauty of the island by discovering the local fora and fauna.
