Jeev Milkha Singh diary: Excited to be playing at the Legends Tour this week | Golf-world – Gulf News
We are playing this week over the appropriately named 6,579 yards Legends Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage in Mauritius.
I have played in Mauritius before in regular Tour events. What I am really excited about is catching up with my old golf pro friends after such a long time.
T e f eld this week includes the likes of 2005 US Open Champion Michael Campbell, 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie and two-time Senior Major Champion Roger Chapman.
T e event is also the season-ending event on the Legends Tour Order of Merit with four players in contention to claim the top spot; with Welshman and T e Senior Open winner Stephen Dodd currently on top on 1830 points, closely followed by Frenchman T omas Levet in second place on 1435 points, Markus Brier (Austria) in third place on 1379 points and on 1323 points in fourth place is James Kingston (South Africa). Over the last two weeks I have played two events in India, the f rst one in Kolkata on the PGIT Tour and f nished tied 17th with rounds of 65, 68, 71 and 68, and last week I made the cut at T e DGC Open on the Asian Tour in Delhi. I was pleased with my form and got back into the rhythm of tournament golf. Looking beyond this week, I am not really sure of my 2022 schedule of senior events as I have exemption status at various levels on di f erent Tours and I will be playing on the Legends Tour in Europe, T e JPGA Tour as well as three or four events on the Champions Tour. More news to follow on this in due course. Finally, I have had time to re f ect on my career and life for probably the f rst time ever with my break from golf and Covid. My parents introduced me to the game of golf and they are always in my thoughts and I will be playing for them from now on. I am feeling good and am looking forward to this special week, both on and o f the golf course.
T anks to everyone for their support. Speak to you all soon!
