French pastry chef Pierre Hermé hosts the pastry competition
In the pastry competition, the jury is composed of world-renowned pastry chefs Pierre Hermé, Frédéric Cassel and Mercotte (famous TV host and food blogger). The world-renowned pastry chefs participating in the competition carefully present innovative works that touch the taste buds of diners, including Jean Michel Perruchon, winner of the French Best Craftsman Award, Ophélie Barès, a well-known French pastry chef, Germain Decreton, pastry chef of Le Jules Verne, a French two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Lok Hin Yam from Hong Kong, China, and Marc Ducobu, pastry chef of Ducobu, a well known Belgian dessert shop. In the end, the Pierre Hermé Award was awarded to the Belgian pastry chef Marc Ducobu and Ravindu Uluwaduge from Constance Moofushi Maldives in recognition of their creations; the famous pastry chef Lok Hin Yam from Hong Kong, China won the Valrhona Chocolate Art Work Award.

In addition, Carinne Bienvenue and Andrew Joseph from Constance Prince Maurice won honors in the Constance Café Gourmand and Jars Arts de la Table competitions respectively. The 17th Constance Food Festival in 2024 will last for one week and will host four main events, eight special dinners and three master classes. As in previous years, sharing, creativity and respect for local ingredients are at the heart of the festival's success. Jean Jacques Vallet, CEO of Constance Hotels & Resorts, commented on the 17th edition of the Festival and its past achievements: “Constance has a long history and has become a model of fine cuisine in the Indian Ocean region. The level of excitement exceeds that of the previous year. 2024 is the 17th Food Festival.
